EXTRA: Get the Ss to read each of the 'Your family members' out and then get bonus points for any of the 'My family member' equivalents they can say. Donated by D Desiatnik |
|
Give each Ss in the class a card with a family member on it. (Have 2 or 3 families mixed up.) Ss mingle to find their family. They use Japanese questions to do this ie. Onamae wa nan desu ka? おなまえはなんですか。Myouji wa nan desu ka? みょうじはなんですか。 Once they have found all their family members they then figure out what each person's role is in the family. Ie Dad, Mum, older brother etc. Then, they introduce their family to the rest of the class. EXTRA: Add more things such as ages, occupations, hobbies, colours of eyes/hair etc. to make the introductions lengthier.
Family speed date
Organise the students into a "speed dating" situation by putting students into two rows facing each other. Give one row of students the reading sheets and the other row of students the check list. Students read out their descriptions of their allocated family and the other student listens and ticks off the family members they hear. Once students have read their descriptions them move one seat down the line and read their description to the next person. Continue until everyone has had a chance to complete their checklist. At the end of the class the teacher asks students in the check list line to describe the families. Donated by R Li |
